Today is a day to “March forth and do something.” (‘Cause it’s March Fourth. Get it?) As Spring is approaching, how about we march forth and plant some Seeds? I mean these Seeds:
Seeds Family Worship is a series of CD’s with actual Scriptures set to music. There are Seeds of Courage, Seeds of Faith, Seeds of Praise, etc. The music is good quality and upbeat, so the whole family can enjoy listening to it. It’s catchy, so the songs will “stick” in your head. When we’re talking about Scripture, “sticky” is a really good thing!
The majority of the albums are based in the NIV. A couple are ESV. Personally, I prefer the NKJV, but I’d rather my children memorize the gist of a Scripture, even if it’s not in my favorite translation than not to memorize because NKJV is hard to find.
The only thing I dislike about these is that, like most Scripture-memory songs, they don’t include the references. I really wish they would, because it’s much more helpful to memorize Scripture when you also know where to find it. (To be clear, they do say the reference along with the the song. But the reference is not part of the song.)
I really appreciate that these are more modern, “fun” music that the grownups would listen to, as well. It’s not dull, or childish, or anything that would make it crazy-boring for Mom and Dad to have to listen to along with the kids. ‘Cause let’s face it, Mom and Dad could stand to memorize the verses, too!

Right now we just play Scripture music for the boys, because they’re still so little. Once Callan starts putting phrases together, we’ll probably start working on weekly memory verses, practicing a couple times each day.
Repeating it over and over.
