I like Fair Trade. In case you don’t know what that is, “fair trade” products are those made in other countries, by artisans or other workers who are paid fair wages for their labor/fair prices for their art. This is just good ethics. (Even the Bible says the worker is worthy of his wages!)
Novica is a pretty neat company/organization, because they serve as a sort of international marketplace. Go to their site, and you can purchase items from all over the world. The items vary considerably. You can purchase accessories like cufflinks, women’s scarves, or walking sticks. You can buy décor for your home, like vases and blankets. You can even buy musical instruments! Prices cover a wide spectrum, as well, so there’s something here for everyone.

I chose some jewelry for myself. This beautiful “Forever” choker was crafted by an Indian artist named Kalyani Gupta. (I love hematite!) It’s even lovelier in person. The choker shipped to me directly from India, accompanied by a note from the artist.
I also ordered the “Falling Rain” earrings below. They look like turquoise (but are actually magnesite and resin), and are made by Nareerat Tansuwansophon of Thailand. They shipped to me from a Novica office/warehouse here in the U.S.

I will be coming back to Novica for gifts (and maybe for more jewelry!) in the future.
Disclosure: Novica provided me with a gift certificate to make the above purchases, to facilitate this review. As always, all opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
what country are you in?
