I hate bra shopping. Maybe you do, too. Despite the ongoing lament in the intimate apparel industry that some vast percentage (80%, I think?) of women are wearing the wrong size bra, they continue to make it nearly impossible to find the right size bra. If you’re nursing, the difficulty doubles. And heaven forbid you should want it to be pretty!
Imagine my elation when I discovered that not only does Panache make my size (a pretty high bust-to-band ratio), and make nursing bras – they even have pretty nursing bras!
They graciously sent me the “Sophie” to try out. It’s the one you see in the photo. This black lace bra is lined with flesh-toned microfiber. That makes it much more comfortable than plain lace, helps with support, and keeps it from being see-through.
It fit perfectly, straight out of the package. I was thrilled. I have never, to my recollection, had a bra whose band actually, truly fit. There is an inner layer at the bottom of the bust that helps provide support even when the cups are open for nursing. Theoretically, the clips allow for one-handed opening and closing. I’ve found them to have a bit of a learning curve, though. I am just now, after several weeks, getting to the point that I can actually do them one-handed. For the first while, I had to use both hands. They don’t pop open on me, though. And the design is such that they should be able to be closed one-handed. (My previous nursing bras required pushing the clips closed. This doesn’t really work, because once it’s open, there’s nothing to hold the other half of the clip where you need it, to provide resistance. This design is much better!)
I find it slightly itchy at the back, but maybe it will soften up with wear/washing. Even if not, the great fit makes it worth it. I will definitely be seeking out Panache in the future.
Disclosure: I received the bra pictured above to facilitate this review. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.

Hi, G! Thank you for your comment.
To clarify, this bra is not an underwire bra. (For any of my readers who are reading this comment – that’s also an important reason for wearing a well-fitted bra!)
I appreciate your perspective and, in fact, have been teaching my daughters about the difference between antiperspirants and deodorants. If I might ask, how did you find me?
