Yesterday was National Popcorn Day. We celebrated by popping popcorn together in the Whirlypop and reading the poem posted at By Sun and Candlelight, then divvying our popcorn up into bowls, seasoning them a variety of ways, and having a taste test.
Ariel practiced being a gourmet taste tester and using water to rinse out her mouth between flavors. 🙂 We made peanut butter popcorn, sugar & spice popcorn, vanilla popcorn, savory herb popcorn, parmesan popcorn, hot mustard popcorn, and basic buttered/salted popcorn. Then we attempted some popcorn balls, which did not work well at all.
Yesterday afternoon and last night, we got our first snow accumulation of the season. (We did get flurries once before.) This is Sophia’s first snow, so we took her out to experience it today. She was not impressed. It did not upset her or anything, but she didn’t seem to “get” what all the fuss was about. 🙂
(Of course, this may be more because of the snowsuit than the snow. You’d think we’d straitjacketed her or something; from the time we put the snowsuit on her, she pretty much didn’t budge, except to turn her head!)
