I know, I know school is hardly over. For some of you, maybe school isn’t out at all yet. But it’s already time to start giving some thought – if only a little preliminary thought – to planning ahead for next year’s school books and supplies. If you already have a list of what you want, it’s easier to save by getting some of it at used curriculum sales, etc. A couple other tricks I like to use:
SwagBucks
Swagbucks is a search engine that gives you the opportunity to win points just by searching. (And we homeschool moms do plenty of internet searching, right?) It’s powered in part by Google, so the results are usually pretty good. (I have it installed in my Firefox search bar, so on the rare occasion that it’s not doing what I need, I can switch over.) 0
I earn enough points from searches to redeem for a $5 Amazon gift card about once a month. (That’s $60/year!) Right now, use code JUNETASTIC when signing up, and get an extra 70 SwagBucks.
I wanted to be sure to tell you about this today, though, because tomorrow there’s a Swag Code Extravaganza, which is an opportunity to get Swag Bucks for nothing. They’re giving away 60 Swag Bucks in codes throughout the day, so log on early and be sure to check in throughout the day for more chances to win! (To redeem a code, go to the main page and enter it in the box in the upper right corner.)
PaperBackSwap
PaperBackSwap is a great option, too. (And, yes, they have more than just paperbacks.) Right about now, people are probably starting to clean off their shelves. Log on now to “wish list” the books you want for next year, and maybe you can snap some of them for what amounts to the shipping cost. Although I’ve had to wait a while for certain books, I have picked up alot of our books this way.
