Thank you to LUNA Protein for providing me a LUNA Protein sample pack to review. The opinions I’ve expressed here are solely my own and represent my honest viewpoint.
A couple days ago, Chocolate-Covered Katie‘s post was all about “healthy snacks you can take on the go.” This was a very timely post, as I had just been giving serious thought to snacks I can pack in the diaper bag and, in fact, had received some great samples from Luna!
When I say “diaper bag,” you might assume I am thinking primarily of snacks for the kids – but you would be mistaken. I am the one who needs snacks all the time on the go! I’m underweight and nursing, and the kids keep me on my toes! Snacking has gotten even trickier since I had to go gluten-free.
Katie’s snack recipes are great if you have time to make up a bunch of stuff ahead, but for the times you don’t (or that you need it to keep longer), the Luna bars are fantastic. I’m excited that they’ve recently made sure they’re all gluten-free, so I can eat them. They’re easy to carry around, because they’re individually packaged. And they’re good! It has been my experience that a lot of protein bars either taste really funky, or have a nasty, chalky texture. A couple of these might have a slightly odd aftertaste, but it’s so slight I probably wouldn’t even have noticed if I hadn’t been taste-testing them. And they’re definitely not chalky. As an added bonus, the bars are all kosher, and Luna sources non-GMO ingredients. (Thank you, Luna!)
I got a set of six different flavors to try, and every one of them was quite good. (Most of them had chocolate. That always helps!) Next time I go grocery shopping I’ll have to stock up on these. 🙂
In case you aren’t sure which flavor you would like best, five of you get to win the same sample pack I tried. (The bars are full-size. It’s just “sample” because they’re all different flavors.) To enter, leave a comment on this post by the end of the day (EST) on September 6th, telling me which flavor you’d most like to try, and/or your favorite packable snack. Five winners will be randomly chosen from the comments.
The giveaway is now closed. The winners, as selected by Random.org, are:
Vicki Bentley (“Mom”)
Sonia
Audrey
Amanda Jasinki
Kendra Gillilan
Congratulations!

Hi Rachel. Chocolate peanut butter all the way!
Hi Rachel. I’m not sure what the flavors are, you can just surprise me. My diet consists of lean meats, fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds. I do not consume any processed foods. Does this fit the category for my diet? I make all my own cookies and snacks and the kids love it. I have a totally gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free chocolate chip cookie recipe that everyone in my family loves. I think I’ll make some today. I’m always open to trying new recipes and foods. Anyway, hope to try out a sample. Pick me!
Chocolate or chocolate cherry almond or the mint chip one. These look good and I see that they are all gluten free! 🙂
