In anticipation of Christmas last month, the question was asked in one of my online communities, “What’s on your Christmas list?” I had to giggle when one of the ladies said she’d flabbergasted her husband by asking for a nail gun. (That’s for building things, ladies, not doing your fingernails. 😉 ) The reason this made me laugh is that I’ve been this way for years.
I don’t build much around here because Michael usually jumps in and makes things for me when I talk about them, so it never gets as far as me needing to make them. (He’s pretty quick.) But as a young single woman, that’s what I spent much of my “discretionary” money on — tools. (My dad said, “Most girls come home and show off the new clothes they bought. My daughter comes home excited about her new tools.” lol) I’m sure working in construction had a lot to do with that — I got to use my tools regularly.
I never had anything as expensive as festool tools (I never even heard of this brand until recently, so apparently no one else I know had tools this pricey, either!), but I did buy a convertible corded/cordless rechargeable drill as soon as one became available, and my tool box is twice as big as hubby’s. lol (I still have steel-toed boots in the top of my closet, too.)
