On Monday, my girls and I went with my parents and sisters to the Virginia State Fair. (Ariel was sooo excited about seeing “real animals” and going in tents. 🙂 ) At one of the booths, we signed up for a drawing, and I know they plan to use the contact information to try to sell us a timeshare at Massanutten. Of course, as previously mentioned, we already have a Massanutten timeshare (purchased when our income was much greater than it it now!), so we won’t be buying. The beauty of a timeshare, in our eyes, is the ability to trade it for other locations, because one can go on such a variety of vacations with it (not that we have – lol). What is your dream vacation? Wilderness camping (which we can do at Massanutten)? A Venetian hotel? The hustle and bustle of New York City? An English cottage?
I have a hard time coming up with the dream vacation. I have such varied interests; there are so many places I’d love to visit and so many “types” of vacation I think I would enjoy. One that I think I might especially enjoy would be a New York vacation at the beginning of June. There is a Gottschee Festival there early every June, which I would love to attend. (The Gottschee Festival is an ethnic festival for a particular group – the Gottschees – who come from one small part of Slovenia. We believe my great-grandmother was Gottschee.) I haven’t ever seen the Statue of Liberty – or any other major New York landmarks, for that matter. My family would also enjoy seeing a musical on Broadway. How ’bout you? What’s your dream vacation?
