In recent weeks, I have come across a number of items which are so high-brow, I can’t even fathom purchasing them.  In most cases, these are everyday items, but in extremely nice (and expensive!) versions.  A few highlights, for your viewing awe:

Evolution of Script fountain pen: $1395 (or Exceptional Santos de Cartier for $3275)

Swirl Razor (from The Art of Shaving): $1000 (or buy it in a set with a shaving brush and stand for a mere $3400)

Hublot watch: $4000-18,000, depending on style (closeout prices as low as $2300)

Wurlitzer jukebox: $8995
(To be honest, I thought that most of Hammacher Schlemmer’s items were pretty pricey until I came across the items above.  Hammacher Schlemmer’s stock is downright cheap by comparison!)
