Well, it looks like the waterbed may have to go. Michael has had it for years (since he was a teenager), for the sake of his back. (Apparently they are terrible for certain types of back issues and wonderful for certain others.) It keeps us from being able to bring Sophia to bed with us, though, which makes life much more difficult, and lately it seems to be causing problems with Michael’s neck – not good when his job involves physical labor!
So, when we move, we may have to ditch the waterbed and just replace the mattress with a “real” mattress – maybe a memory foam mattress. They’re supposed to be really good for spinal alignment, right? And the memory foam pillow we have is comfy. They’re pricey, though, I think. (Having never actually purchased a mattress – of any kind – I’m not really certain. I guess I will have to do some price-shopping.)
