TreeSmart provided me with the school supplies you see below, to facilitate my review. As always, all opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

You can’t start back to school without school supplies, right? But how are you going to get eco-friendly versions of those? Well, one great option is TreeSmart.
TreeSmart’s signature product is pencils – regular “writing” pencils, and colored pencils. These pencils are made from rolled-up post-consumer newspapers instead of wood. They’re hard like wood, and can be sharpened exactly the same, but instead of using a harder-to-renew resource, they use what would otherwise be trash.
They write pretty well. The colored pencils are decent, too. A couple of the colors were a little odd and not what I expected based on the “barrel” color, but they color well.

To round things out, TreeSmart has a few other products in its lineup. You can see the supply/pencil boxes here. There’s a ruler in the pack, too. These are all

These items are made of recycled newspaper and plastic.
Newspaper pencils are a pretty quick and easy way to go green!
