Life has gotten rather crazy around here. The contract closes on this house (that we’re living in) on September 26th. (Maybe I already told you that; I can’t remember.) So we will need to be moved before that. We don’t yet have a house to rent or buy, though, so we aren’t sure exactly where we’re going or when. And we will “lose” a week in September, because we’ll be out of town. Michael “has” to go to the HSLDA leadership conference, for work, and he’s taking us with him. So we’ll be traveling to New York state for a week – right before we have to move!
Meanwhile, I’m still trying to get this Linux thing to work (almost there, I think, finally!), and Blogger Friend School is about to start back up. I participated in this last year, and it was a lot of fun! In case you’re not familiar, it is a series of weekly blogging “assignments.” They’re aimed primarily at Christian homeschool moms, but as far as I know, anyone is welcome to participate. They build a sense of blogging community among us and help us get to know each other. The team is just gearing up to begin sending out assignments…next week, I think (wow, is it really almost September, already?!), and they’re kicking off by having a back-to-school contest. I am participating by posting this to let you know about it. The prize is a nature journaling/notebooking set.
These assignments should be even easier to complete after we’re moved, because Michael is pretty sure we’re going to get high-speed internet when we get there! Yay!!! I’ve gotten to make use of this once or twice at a friend’s house or at my mother-in-law’s, and the turbo-fast speeds are just mind-boggling to one who’s accustomed to a (slow) dial-up connection. This is the best luxury anyone could give me, and I am so excited that it’s a probability! 🙂
Wow! You have a bunch going on right now with your move and vacation. I bet you are exhausted at just the thought of all this. I am really excited that you signed up for blogger friend school and I look forward to getting to know you better.
How great that you are going to have high-speed internet, it was not that long ago that I made the switch and I just love it.
