I have been learning some interesting things lately. Did you know (probably everybody did, but me, since we seem to be the last people in the U.S. to get a cell phone) that they make these itty-bitty, teeny-tiny memory cards to go in your cell phone? These cards are so small that they have to “nest” inside larger cards in order to be inserted into a regular computer to transfer the files. Amazing! (And to think that, just a few decades ago, a computer took up a whole room!)

Something else I should’ve known, but never made the connection before: Hawaii was not a state yet when Pearl Harbor was bombed. I mean, I knew that Pearl Harbor was bombed in 1941. And I knew that Hawaii became a state in, what, 1958? Maybe 1959? But I never made the connection before that, that means the Pearl Harbor attack was before Hawaii’s statehood. Interesting.
Other, not-so-interesting things I’m learning involve the differences between country living and city living. Like what city-dwellers do with their dog poop. (See, I told you it wasn’t very interesting.)
Hawaii and Alaska both became states in 1959 🙂
Oops. I meant 1958-59. Guess I had 194? on the brain. Thanks for setting me straight! (And I am off to correct the post.)
