I know that cereal is not the healthiest breakfast on the planet but, let’s face it – sometimes you just want something quick. Chex has been really good for gluten-free options (only Wheat Chex – my favorite before going GF – and the multigrain one aren’t GF), ever since that’s been a necessity for me. But sometimes I miss the old flavors of cereals Iused to be able to eat.
Apple Jacks used to be a favorite, so I was excited when I found out that Chex was coming out with an apple cinnamon flavor. Apple Cinnamon Chex are made with whole grains and sprinkled with real apples and cinnamon.
The Apple Cinnamon Chex are quite tasty. Of course, they have the same great “crunch” as all the other Chex varieties. I think my favorite is still the “plain” cinnamon ones, though. (The apple flavor is good, but gets to be “too much” after a while.) It’s great having choices! And Chex are usually pretty reasonably priced.
If you don’t eat them all at breakfast, you can enjoy them as a snack. 🙂
Disclosure: I was provided by the company with a box of cereal to facilitate this post. They sent it in a gift basket which also contained the bowl and spoon you see above. I did not receive any other compensation. As always, all opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
I like that they’re made with whole grains
