Friday night is date night, right? No? Not at our house, either. After all, with several young children in the house and a limited budget, who can get away? Well, this Friday night you have the opportunity to win a date night, of a sort.
Wanchai Ferry and Macaroni Grill have teamed up with MyBlogSpark to offer a prize package that includes:
- a Wanchai Ferry dinner kit
- a Macaroni Grill dinner kit
- $25 Visa gift card to complete your date night (babysitter, maybe?)
Now, before mine arrived, I pictured these dinner kits as being like frozen meals – single serving, everything included. They’re not. Each one is the necessary ingredients to make a meal to serve four, except for the perishable ingredients, like meat. (You could use your gift card for that, if you don’t already have it on hand.) I actually keep forgetting to get out the correct meat to whip mine up, but they appear to be very simple to prepare.
While you’re waiting to see if you win, print out this coupon for $1.50 off of two dinner kits. (Hmmm…my information says $1.50, but the coupon is printing for me as $2.25.)
To enter, tell us about your first date. Or, if you don’t have a “first date” story, tell us about some other date, or even your dream date.* For additional entries, share your favorite Wanchai Ferry or Macaroni Grill dinner kit variety, “like” Titus 2 Homemaker on Facebook, subscribe to my feed, and/or follow me on Twitter. (If you already follow me by one of these methods, yes, that counts.) Be sure to leave a separate comment for each entry so I can count them!
*For those who are curious, we courted, so our first date was rather unorthodox. My husband was the associate pastor at a church at the time, and our first date was the annual deacons’ (and pastors’ and wives) dinner that took place during our engagement! The most distinguishing feature of that date was the ribbing I took for out-eating all of the deacons. lol
The prize packs (for myself and to give away) and information were provided by Wanchai Ferry and Macaroni Grill through MyBlogSpark.
Ah my first date with the hubby was at a bar and we shot pool and bowled for a while. It was lots of fun!

How neat! My first date with my fiance was when we were in high school. He took me to a Denny’s restaurant! haha We’re now engaged, and will be getting married soon after 9 years together! 🙂 This would make a great date night dinner! Thanks for the opportunity!

My (now) husband and I were co-workers before we starting dating. For months before our first date I kept telling him about this little Mexican restaurant and how we should go together. My husband kept blowing me off, so I took it as he wasn’t interested in me like that (he swears that he didn’t know I was interested in him like that when I was asking him out…whatever!). When he learned that I had been asked on a date by someone else, he finally accepted my offer. Our first date ended up being at the little Mexican restaurant I had wanted to go to from the start.

We met at work through a co-worker. My husband and I went to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner on our first date. Two months later, we got engaged. Six months after that we were married. We’ve been married now for 17 years.
Our first date was 15 years ago at a mall. We were 19 and 20 at the time.
I like the Wanchai Ferry orange chicken.

It’s up for debate on when our actual first date was. My husband counts it from when we met in person for the first time (we met online). I count it from Dec. 2, 2006 where I realized that I actually loved the guy and did want to date him!
His first date. He met me where I worked and brought me flowers. We went to Starbuck’s where we talked for hours and hours, like we’d known each other forever.
My first date. We’d gone to the Richmond Renegades (I think?) hockey game then to the Grand Illumination downtown. It was beautiful, romantic and wonderful. (Where we also had our first kiss and he proposed on that exact spot the exact date a year later!)
I think I’d like a sleigh ride in gently falling snow, looking at all the twinkling Christmas lights and house decorations and then stopping at a country inn for dinner by a romantic cozy fire.
Orange chicken— Never tried it, but it sounds good!
