I love Hape Toys, because they’re high-quality toys made with natural materials like wood and bamboo.  They sell toys for the littlest ones all the way on up to the big kids, and even some great games for the whole family.  Most recently, we got to check out this wooden drum.

Drums are great for toddlers, aren’t they?  The kids are going to be banging on something, regardless, so we might as well make it something designed for banging!  The Little Drummer is made of wood, and decorated with bright designs painted on with water-based paint.  (It coordinates beautifully with the other Early Melodies instruments, too.)

The real test, though, is what the little ones think of it.  Livia loved it!

And, yes, she did finally figure out that she couldsit down and play!

And even that there are two drumsticks!

This was a real hit (no pun intended), and I’m looking forward to trying out some of the other instruments.
