I received a box from Love with Food to review this past fall, and I fell in love with the program. The smaller box is a pretty good deal – it’s only $10/month, which most of us probably spend on trying new things, anyway. And they ship a boxful of fairly healthy foods straight to your home.
Now, granted, not everything will be every customer’s favorites. There’s some give-and-take there. You get to try new things, but a part of trying new things is not loving everything every time. To be honest, this particular box was not my favorite. (But the last one was fabulous! This specific selection just wasn’t my best fit.) I was especially looking forward to trying the white cheddar/green chile popcorn – but it turned out to be one of the few gluten-full items in the box.
See, one of the things I love about these boxes is that, although they aren’t gluten-free, typically about 75% or so of the contents are. In this case, the popcorn was one of – I think – two items that contained gluten. Everything else was safe for me to eat.
But the kids ate the popcorn – and they loved it! After the faces the older two made, I figured the 3-year-old would complain that it was too hot. But she actually gobbled up almost the whole bag herself. And then quietly said, “This hurts me.” (We got her some milk to tame the heat.) The other girls liked it, too, but ate much more slowly (and, therefore, got less of it) because they were more sensitive to the heat.
The dried fruit was a particular favorite, too. My oldest had just been asking for peaches when the bag arrived, so she was especially excited about these!
