Thursday Thrive benefits — Thrive Life is E for Easy.
The groceries can be pretty easy, too, but in this post I’m focusing on the Simple Plate meals. I mentioned these yesterday as a Date Night option, and I want to talk a little more about how they work.
Each meal comes in a box — either a couples-size box or a family-size box, which serve roughly 2 and 4, respectively. (It really depends on your serving sizes. The nutrition information on this meal right here, for the “2”-person box is actually for 3 servings. But they want to make sure there’s plenty for a couple, or for a family of 4.)
When you open the box, you’ll see something like this:
What you see sitting right there on top is the recipe card. (It’s three-hole punched, so you can add this to a binder if you like.) And underneath it are all the ingredients you need, already portioned out in individual packets. You might need a pantry staple or two (like oil or salt); if so, it will be listed right on the card so there are no surprises.
The card breaks down the instructions step by step, and they’re indicated by these lovely, bold, color-coded numbers.
The numbers correspond to the pre-portioned packets. This is what comes in the Thai Style Coconut Beef package:
(By the way, those images are not to scale. Some of the packets are much larger than others! Don’t panic thinking the beef and seasoning packets are roughly the same size; they’re not.)
This meal was ready in roughly 15-20 minutes, with very few dirty dishes. No cutting boards or knives. Not a handful of measuring spoons and cups. No raw meat mess to clean up.
Easy!
