I’ve been thinking for a while that it would be really nice if someone would make real soap. Just plain old real soap. Not with fancy colors and scents and such – just plain old soap, in “bulk,” so it can be sold affordably.
Apparently I wasn’t the only one thinking this, because this is exactly the idea behind True Body products. This is real soap, with no added colors or scents, sold in 3-packs to minimize packaging. In addition, the packaging, ‘though attractive, is basic, so there isn’t a lot of cost (or waste!) involved there, either.
This stuff is about $5.50 per 3-pack. That’s a bit more than you’d pay for a 3-pack of drugstore soap, but then, the drugstore soap has had the glycerin stripped out and sold separately for profit. This is real soap, with all the natural goodness left in, and it’s far less costly than “luxe” type soaps.
We have off-the-charts-hard water, and this passes my ultimate soap test – it lathers! Most natural soaps will not stay lathered in my washcloth long enough to wash, say, a whole arm, because of our hard water. This stays lathered well enough to last a whole shower.
My only complaint with this soap actually sounds a little silly. The bars are too big. They’re really thick, and I have trouble holding them, or “rolling” them in my hand until they’re used up a bit. I would prefer, I think, that they make packages of four slightly thinner soap bars, rather than three of these super-thick bars. Obviously, though, that’s a small complaint! I might just have to cut them in half or something.
I do like this soap. It’s a great, high-quality all-purpose soap at a very affordable price. So I can be frugal and healthy. 🙂
Disclosure: I received a three-pack of soap from True Body Products at no cost, to facilitate this review. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.

Thank you for the information. I am definitely going to order a package of this soap. (The non-online sources for it are all over 100 miles from me.)
Love it!
I’ve been using real soap for a while now, and love the scents that my favorite soapmaker uses, but would also like some plain-Jane unscented. Thanks for the tip! I’ll have to order some True Body when I get low on the current stock!
