Michael and I did something when we got married, that I’ve since been very thankful we did. I would highly recommend this to all couples, as it’s served to strengthen our marriage.
We framed a copy of our vows.
Now, for ours, we had a large, wide mat cut, and we used this as the “guest book” at our wedding. Our vows are framed with this mat, as a reminder that all of these people served as witnesses to our marriage covenant. But even if you don’t do it exactly this way, I very much recommend having a copy of your actual vows displayed somewhere prominent.
Ours have served for us as an ongoing reminder of exactly what we promised. When times are hard, we sometimes stand in the hall (where the “picture” is hung), and just re-read them.
However you choose to do it, putting them someplace you can see them as a reminder (rather than just packed in a box somewhere, or “buried” in the middle of your never-viewed wedding video) may work for you like it works for us.
I love this idea! Husband and I have our vows scrapbooked, in letter form, but this is much better. I may just do this and give it to us for our 2nd anniversary in November. Bookmarking this project now! Thanks.
This is a lovely idea. Memories staring you in the face so that you keep those beautiful memories alive and make more of them.
