Did you know that paraffin is made from the same crude oil as diesel fuel? Burning paraffin candles in your home is similar to running a diesel engine in the house. Not very healthy! (And gross.)
A much healthier alternative is soy wax. Soy candles have other benefits over paraffin, as well. For instance, they melt at a lower temperature, making it safer to burn them around children. (Obviously, fire is fire and it’s still a hazard! But the melted wax is much cooler.) Soy wax washes up with soap and water, too.
Good Neighbors candles are all 100% soy wax (with hemp wicks), and made by hand right here in the United States. The ones I’ve had opportunity to experience in person smell wonderful! (And I’m not a “scents” kind of gal. There’s just such a difference between artificial scents and natural scents!)
The smallest candles are small enough that you can drop them into stockings. All of them make great gifts, either on their own or as additions to gift baskets. Check out the fun “novelty” candles, such as the hot cocoa candle in its tin mug.
