The Little Lion’s Bible and Little Lamb’s Bible from ZonderKidz are board book-style story Bibles designed for toddlers and preschoolers. The covers are plush and have either a lion or lamb on the front. The stories are the same for either book.

Ten Bible stories are included, in simple rhyming text. Creation, Noah’s Ark, Moses in the Basket, David and Goliath, Daniel in the Lions’ Den, Jonah and the Big Fish, the Nativity, the Lord’s Prayer, the Feeding of the Five Thousand, and the Resurrection are all here. The story is on the left side; an illustration is on the right side of each spread.

I do wish that the illustrations had been handled with greater accuracy. We have the same old bathtub-shaped “ark,” whale instead of a fish, etc. that are so common in children’s story Bibles. (The text does specify a fish, though.) Apart from that, these are a neat, tactile way to introduce little ones to the Truth.

If you do Easter baskets, these would make appropriate fillers. If you celebrate Passover (as a Christian), the lamb one would make an appropriate Passover treat. These would also be wonderful baby gifts.
