I was recently introduced to the Nature Certified company. This company was started by a mom who, like me, was concerned about what went on her baby’s body. (What we put on our skin is absorbed and ultimately ends up in the body!) She set out to create a line of products that are made of edible ingredients, organic when possible. The result is Nature Certified.
The company was gracious enough to send me a few sample products so I could try them out and tell you what I think of them. The baby wash/shampoo smells great – mildly herb-y, but not overpowering. It comes in a foaming-type pump dispenser, which makes it easy to get out whatever quantity you need – however small. I did not find that it sudsed well on a washcloth, but it did great when applied directly to my baby’s skin or hair (which is actually what the instructions tell you to do). As is the case with most of the products, it comes in two sizes. The smaller size will be great for travel. This is a definite plus, as it can be especially difficult to find natural baby products in travel-friendly sizes.
There are a variety of other items available, mostly designed for babies, but many of which can be used by adults, as well. There is even a line of organic baby clothes. These clothes are very cute, without being frou-frou. (There are even some really cute boy outfits.)
My favorite Nature Certified product, though, (at least so far) is the lotion. I really, really love this lotion. Most hand lotions leave my hands feeling slimy. Even if they sort of soak in and don’t initially feel slimy, they “reactivate” as soon as I get my hands wet – and feel slimy. Not this lotion. It absorbed readily, and never got slick or slimy. But I know it was doing its job because I could tell a difference in my skin several hours later, even after only a single use. I haven’t even gotten around to trying it on my daughter yet because I’ve been hogging it for my own use!
As if the great products weren’t enough, there’s more. A percentage of the company’s profits goes to support the education of orphaned girls in India (and similar causes). My sister works closely with an orphanage in India, so Indian orphans are especially close to our hearts.
These products are definitely worth a try.
Disclosure: I was provided with a selection of free product to facilitate my review. As always, all opinions expressed are purely my own.
