Donielle at Natural Fertility and Wellness has put together a great blog carnival in preparation for the holidays. Each week will be hosted at a different blog. (Clicking on the carnival link should take you to the master list. I already missed last week, which was soup.)
This week, we’re posting appetizers. These sausage cheese balls originally called for baking mix. They tasted good, but were full of white flour and hydrogenated oil. Yuck. So here’s my edited version. I take these to all of our Christmas gatherings (and some other things, too), and they’re always popular. They’re also pretty easy to transport.
Be sure to head over and check out the Linky for more whole foods appetizer recipes!

Notes

These sound tasty to me 🙂
As Rachel’s sister, and therefore a taste-tester at all family gatherings, I can say with confidence that these are delicious! 🙂
Sounds like something fun to do w/ my girls! and a great addition to breakfast night!
These sound really good! Do you serve them hot? I’m looking for something that tastes great and is easy to transport for a Christmas party. We have to travel about an hour and a half, so I need something that transports well, for sure! I’m wondering if I can make these at home, then just warm them in the oven when I get there for like 5 minutes or so… Do you serve them with anything?
You can serve them hot, but we usually just eat them at room temperature. And, nope, we don’t serve them with anything, either. I just dump them in a bowl and go. 🙂
Hi Rachel. I’m planning to serve these Christmas Eve night, they look great! I WW flour and WW pastry. Would either work?
Either one will work. Given both options, I would probably go with the pastry flour. But I don’t honestly think it will make a huge difference.
