Coppin’s Gifts is a Hallmark store online. They sell a variety of gift items, but my favorite is their Willow Tree selection. I love Willow Tree figurines! Their design fits my aesthetic preferences perfectly – simple, with clean lines, and almost rustic – and most of them are somewhat family-themed. When Coppin’s Gifts gave me the opportunity to review one from their site, I discovered one I hadn’t seen before.
As a family of homeschoolers, could there be anything more perfectly-suited than a figurine called “Love of Learning“? This little bibliophile (like us!) hugs her open book close to her heart.
And it’s even a little girl, like my own three girls.
Be Careful
Looking carved-from-wood as they do, the Willow Tree figurines appear to be solid. However, we learned the hard way that the resin figures are actually hollow. If your kids drop them on the floor, they will crack. 🙁 And when they break in half, you will be very sad. (We didn’t break this one. Not yet, anyway. But I have had to replace my mama-with-newborn figure (“Angel of Mine”) in the past because it got dropped on the floor. Which is when I discovered that they aren’t as sturdy as they look.)
This is one of those things that I just love to look at! (And I’m not usually a fan of things that are purely aesthetic, so this is a clear indication that it really is a perfect fit.) But if Willow Tree is not your style, Coppin’s carries other lines, like Jim Shore’s Heartwood Creek collection, and Precious Moments. And of course non-figurine items: jewelry, plush animals, etc.
What’s your favorite?
Disclosure: Coppin’s Gifts provided me with the figurine shown above, to facilitate this review. As always, all opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
I have always loved the Willow Tree figurines. I’m not one for figurines like that normally. I have one that a friend gave me. It has wire wings and is holding a puppy. Funnily enough, we had each gifted each other a Willow Tree figurine that year for Christmas, though I cannot remember which one I picked out for her. I thought they were wood, had no idea they were resin and hollow inside. I have always been careful with mine, it’s not a toy, but still good to know.
